workshop 1
The first and third workshop treat the works of Frederic Kiesler and his concept of “magic architecture”. Through drawings, collages and model making, participants will create their own “magical objects” inspired by abstracted nature.

workshop 2
The second workshop treats Ettore Sottsass Jr.’s Metaphors (1972-1979), reflecting on the basic elements of which architecture constitutes and the relation between these elements and the human needs and desires try to answer. Together, we will research the limits of different architectural elements and construct a structure that questions our definition of these parts and its whole.

workshop 3
In the last workshop for CIVA, we revisited the work of Frederic Kiesler with a large group of children and adults. Over a series of steps, the participants deconstructed nature and rediscovered the early beginnings of design, resulting in the creation of their own “magical objects”. We are thrilled with the beautiful output and would have loved to find these strange objects unearthed by future archaeologists.
